1.Selection of varieties: Select seeds with strong disease resistance, excellent quality, high yield, storage and transportation resistance, and good commercial value according to market demand.

2.Site selection and land preparation: Choose sandy loam or loam soil with flat terrain, leeward and sunny, deep soil layer, sufficient water source, convenient transportation, and no cultivation of Solanaceae or Melon and Vegetable crops within a year as the nursery plot. 3.Seedling cultivation methods: adopt two methods: hole tray seedling cultivation and seedbed seedling cultivation.
(1.)Hole tray seedling cultivation: First, wash and dry the new hole tray for sterilization before use. When packing the substrate, use a scraper to scrape from one side of the hole tray to the other, so that each hole has a substrate, but it cannot be overfilled. After packing the tray, press the hole to facilitate the insertion of seeds. Plant 2 seeds in each hole. After sowing, sprinkle water gently and evenly to prevent the substrate and seeds from being washed out of the hole. Then, lay a layer of plastic film on the seedbed to prevent water loss in the seedling tray. From the emergence of seedlings to the unfolding of cotyledons, the daily temperature should be maintained at around 25 ºC, and the night temperature should be around 16-18 ºC. After the seedlings are fully grown, the night temperature can be reduced to around 13 ºC, and the daytime temperature should be maintained at 25 ºC, and the night temperature should not be lower than 10 ºC.

(2.)Seedling bed cultivation: Use the length direction of the greenhouse or the north-south direction of the greenhouse as the bed. A bed width of 1.0-1.2 meters is preferred, with a maximum width of 1.5 meters. The depth of the bed soil is 15-20 centimeters, and the length depends on the length of the greenhouse. It can also be used as a bed in sections for easy operation.
(3.)Preparation of nutrient soil for seedling cultivation: It is recommended to prioritize the use of decomposed farmyard manure in conjunction with the production of seedbed soil. Nutrient soil should be calculated by volume ratio, using 6 parts of field surface soil or onion garlic stubble surface soil that has not been planted with eggplant vegetables, 4 parts of fully decomposed farmyard fertilizer, mixed and sieved. At the same time, 0.3 kilograms of phosphorus diammonium compound fertilizer and 50 grams of 50% carbendazim or other bactericidal and insecticidal pesticides should be evenly mixed and applied to the seedbed for leveling and use per cubic meter of seedbed soil.
(4.)Sowing time and amount: sow at the appropriate time, and sow seeds at a density of 400-500 plants per square meter in the seedbed. (The specific weight is determined through negotiation based on the thousand seed weight, germination rate, and other factors.)

(5.)Seed treatment: In order to prevent and control anthrax and bacterial diseases, seeds without coating are coated or carbendazim and other pesticides are sprayed on the seedbed for prevention.
(6.)Sowing and covering with soil: Before sowing, pour enough bottom water (about 13-18 centimeters thick) and wait for the water to seep in. Mix the seeds evenly with a certain amount of fine soil in advance and sprinkle them evenly in three times on the seedbed that has been watered to the bottom. After sowing, cover the sieved fine soil with 0.3-0.5 centimeters to ensure that the seeds are not exposed and there is no "cap" phenomenon of emergence.
(7.)Film covered arched shed: After sowing and covering with soil, select the same width of plastic film to cover the bed tightly. Build a small arched shed on the seedbed that has been covered with plastic film and compact it in sections. To prevent the small arched shed from getting wet or burning the seedlings along the edge of the seedbed in the future, the construction of the small arched shed should be standardized to prevent water droplets on the edge of the film from soaking the seedling leaves for a long time, and even causing diseases.
